To qualify for self-service transfers, you must meet the following requirements.

  • The event is not a reserved seating event.

  • The event is not password-protected or invitation only.

  • The event has not started yet.

  • The ticket isn't checked in.

Additionally, for event transfers, both events must be public. There also must be enough funds in the original event to cover the original ticket price.

TIP: For reserved seating events, you can still manually transfer attendees to different ticket types or seats.

1. Go to Manage my events.

Log in to your Eventbrite account and select Manage my events from your account menu.

2. Go to your Event Dashboard.

Click your event to go to your Event Dashboard.

2. Click "Registration Transfers" (under Order Options).

3. Allow attendees to transfer to another type of ticket or event.

Check the box next to the options you want to enable:

  • Registration Transfer: attendees can change their ticket type for the event they're registered for.

  • Event Transfer: attendees can change which event they’re attending.

4. Set up your transfer policy.

Your transfer policy is a good place to include any details like the transfer deadline and whether you’ll refund the difference for transfers to lower-priced tickets.

5. Customize transfer settings by ticket type.

Under "Transfer Settings," you can customize transfer capabilities and costs by ticket type.

  • Allow transfers to or from specific ticket types — Bidirectional means attendees can transfer both to and from this ticket type. Allow To means attendees can transfer to this ticket type, but not from it. Allow From means attendees can transfer from this ticket type but not to it.

  • Override the difference in cost for tickets — Choose to charge or ignore differences in the cost of tickets when attendees perform ticket or event transfers. If set to "No Change", the 'Cost difference" transfer setting is ignored. Eventbrite will not automatically refund the difference if an attendee transfers to a lower priced ticket.

6. Save your changes.

Once saved, attendees can transfer their tickets based on your settings.
