Zero to 50

Zero to 50 showcases 3rd age creatives working in photography, art, film, directing, performance, poetry and more.

By becoming visible ourselves and presenting our creative work, we challenge outdated stereotypes of ageing, celebrate late-life creativity, and bring attention to the rich intersectionality of lived experience — including culture, gender, sexuality, class, and identity and more. Our lives are present in our work and are not separate - our creativity often amplifying and extending our previous careers and interests in surprising, fresh ways.

Our website features the work of emerging 3rd age creatives, many of whom come together for joint projects — including our first group exhibition at Whitespace Gallery, Edinburgh from 21 November 2025. Through workshops, and collaborative projects, we create spaces for connection, dialogue, and recognition.
