My name is Chris Hoyle, I am a playwright, actor and historian. After years of writing plays set in Manchester I have become an accidental historian. History has never been more important to share and celebrate and Manchester’s is pretty incredible.

My new venture, What’s the Story combines all my skills as a writer, performer and historian.

My history walking tours focus on culture, diversity and working class voices in Greater Manchester which have been forgotten in an accessible and engaging way.

My era was the 90’s and it was special and exciting time for the rave scene in Manchester. I will share some personal stories and reflections on my new walking tour, Raves & Revolutions.

History walks are a great way for the community to get out in the city, and learn about the place they call home in an entertaining and informative way.
