We are a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting union lawyers and industrial officers in NSW.

Frustrated with the cost of attending expensive Employment Law CPD Seminars, often provided by firms they frequently opposed, ULIO was started by a group of union lawyers and industrial officers 14 years ago. Our primary goal, then and now, is to support industrial officers and legal practitioners advocating for the rights of workers and unions through fostering a platform for the exchange of ideas, skills and knowledge.

ULIO recognises that a strong and informed union movement is essential for improving the lives and experiences of workers and the broader community. We contribute to strengthening the movement by providing valuable opportunities for legal education, fostering a culture of peer support, and facilitating the exchange of skills among our members.

As we navigate the challenges and opportunities within the ever-evolving landscape of industrial relations, ULIO is committed to providing the movement's advocates with the knowledge and skill to advance the interests of working people everywhere.
