The James Wilson Institute

A private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the mission of the James Wilson Institute is to restore to a new generation of lawyers, judges, and citizens the understanding of the American Founders about the first principles of our law and the moral grounds of their own rights.  Founded by Professor Hadley Arkes, his former students, and alumni of Amherst College in 2000, the Institute was formerly known as the Foundation for Classical Studies in Statecraft and Jurisprudence. It hosts events such as the biannual Senior Seminar with judge and law professors, the annual Legal Fellowship with law students, clerks, and young lawyers, and Regional Seminars throughout the country.  JWI is currently located in Washington, D.C.
