RTP for HUBs/IC2 Institute, UT-Austin

The RTP for HUBs is an innovative program that enhances the capacity and competitiveness of minority and women-owned businesses to bid on public and private sector procurement opportunities. The RTP for HUBs has a two-funnel (phase) design that addresses the needs of participating companies at various stages of their growth. Public contracting is the point of entry into the formal business world for many minority and women owned businesses. And governments rely extensively on such firms to provide necessary services and products.

Since its creation in 1988, the IC² Institute has demonstrated wealth creation through training programs locally and internationally, as well as incubation successes. From 2016-2018, the IC² Institute and the City of Austin explored reasons for the lack of growth among small businesses and developed a successful training program, FASTForward. More recently the Institute successfully launched in West Texas the Small-bizXLR8 training and support program for entrepreneurs.
