Rooted In Commons

Rooted in Commons is a citizen-led initiative at the intersection of grounded experience and collective transformation. It draws inspiration from roots—our sense of belonging, lived realities, and emotional grounding—and from commons—the shared spaces, resources, knowledge, and public spheres we co-create.

Rooted in Commons exists to support citizens in shaping public policies and social services. Through civic gatherings, policy labs, and learning spaces, it cultivates civic imagination—the belief that we can shape more just systems—and collective imagination—our shared ability to dream and build better futures.

Founded by community organiser and systems thinker Asma Mansour, Co-Founder and former Director of the Tunisian Center for Social Entrepreneurship, the initiative welcomes activists, researchers, public servants, social entrepreneurs, and anyone eager to co-create change. Researchers are invited to document and co-learn. Civil society groups provide lived insights. Public institutions are engaged as allies to co-design more inclusive systems.

Rooted in Commons embraces linguistic and social inclusion. English is used to broaden access, especially for those excluded from Swedish-speaking spaces, and other minority languages are welcomed when possible.

This isn’t a formal organisation—it’s a growing civic ecosystem. A place where deep listening, critical thinking, and collective care meet grounded action.
