North Canterbury Academy of Music

The Academy was established in 1983 by Julia Holcroft and we continue to offer our students the opportunity to nurture a love of music, from the youngest beginner to the more experienced players, that will last a lifetime. NCAM is primarily an 'out-of-schools' programme offering lessons from 3:30-7:30 Monday - Thursday.

In 2023 we celebrated our 40th Anniversary. Therefore, Christchurch Symphony Orchestral joined us in August for an Orchestral Weekend to celebrate the life of the Academy. This was a wonderful event, open to players of all ages and abilities that concluded in an amazing concert showcasing the hard work over the weekend!

We offer our students many concert opportunities throughout the year and are looking forward to many more years of music making.
