Motivational Interviewing for Change
Motivational Interviewing for Change (MI for Change) provides evidence-based Motivational Interviewing and leadership training for professionals and organizations that want to strengthen communication and support meaningful change. Founded by Mary Beth Abella, MSW, a long-standing member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), MI for Change has trained and coached thousands of professionals across public and private healthcare, behavioral health, criminal justice, homelessness services, youth and family services, higher education, public-sector organizations, and entertainment.
Our work is grounded in research and shaped by decades of real-world practice. We specialize in Motivational Interviewing at all levels, MILO (Motivational Interviewing for Leadership & Organizations), fidelity-based coaching, train-the-trainer programs, and organizational implementation support.
Recent projects include a statewide agency leadership training program and training of new leadership trainers, a keynote for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, MI curriculum development and training for a major healthcare company, fidelity consultation and curriculum design for a national government agency, management of an NIH-funded research study at USC, and service on the training team for MINT’s Training of New Trainers.
Our mission is to provide practical, evidence-based tools that help people succeed in their work and reduce burnout for hard-working professionals.
