Liliana Ospina
Latinos En Michigan TV was founded on October of 2016 by Liliana Ospina, a Colombian journalist and immigrant who has been living in Michigan for over 12 years, and her husband John R. Herbstreith. She is a bilingual professional who has over 15 years of experience in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, and Marketing. Ospina has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communications and Journalism from the University of La Sabana in Colombia (An accredited University through the Opus Dei, an international Catholic institution, supported throughout universities in the United States of America, Europe and South America).
She began her career as an intern for CityTV, an international news and entertainment TV channel with offices in Bogota-Colombia and Canada. After that she worked as a TV production assistant for an independent TV and film production company, later becoming a press secretary for a Senator and Congressman of the Colombian Congress, where she grabbed the opportunity of develop local and national public relations and communications campaigns for her clients.
In the United States, Liliana has worked for different sectors and companies such as GlobalHue, the largest minority own advertising company, a non-profit organization called Domestic and Sexual Abuse Services located in St Joseph County, Kellogg’s Corporation, in Calhoun County, El Vocero Hispano a newspaper in Kent County, and most recently Latinos En Michigan TV and Hispanic Marketing Solutions LLC in Livingston County. She is also the only Hispanic/Latina news correspondent in Michigan for HispanoPost, an international news Website and HINT, a National Hispanic Educational Network.
Liliana Ospina also has an acute knowledge of the Spanish language, which is why companies like Plastics News have hired her as lead copy editors during major operations, such as Plastimagen. This allows her to use her talents to professionally translate, proofread, and edit copy of different articles, speeches or any documents that have been translated from English to Spanish.
