Latin American Cinemateca of Los Angeles (LACLA)
Founded on the vibrant cultural heritage of Latin America, the Latin American Cinemateca of Los Angeles (LACLA) is dedicated to enriching the community through cinematic experiences that enlighten and entertain. As a California non-profit organization, we strive to bridge cultural divides by showcasing a diverse tapestry of films—from timeless classics to contemporary masterpieces from Latin America and by U.S. Latinas and Latinos.
Our mission extends beyond just screenings; we actively support the creative endeavors of Los Angeles’ inner-city middle and high school students through our annual Student Film Festival. This platform not only promotes cultural exchange but also nurtures emerging talent, providing young filmmakers with the opportunity to shine on the big screen.
Join us at LACLA for a series of meticulously curated events that celebrate the power of film to tell compelling stories and bring people together. From the Cine Clásico series that revisits historic Latin American films to engaging community discussions and educational workshops, each LACLA event is a step towards greater understanding and appreciation of the rich Latino heritage.
