Government House is open to the public via FREE guided tours. Tours give a look into the residence of the Lieutenant Governor and the ceremonial home of all British Columbians, covering history, points of interest, and art and architecture. Tours are free but space is limited, and visitors must register in advance.

Tours include the grand ballroom with stained glass of local flowers and plants and sweeping views of the Juan de Fuca Strait; elegant drawing rooms; the large “Rogers Window” stained glass that marks the front of the house; and carvings and art by noted Indigenous and Canadian artists. Learn the stories of this unique Vice Regal residence and its residents, and its place in the history of British Columbia, then spend an afternoon exploring the expansive grounds and gardens.

Located on the traditional territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations, Government House can be reached via a 20-minute walk or five-minute drive from downtown. Free parking is available onsite. Buses on Victoria Regional Transit routes 11 and 14 stop on Fort Street at Joan Crescent, three blocks from Government House.
