A fascinating museum hosting unique art exhibitions and events in Fishponds, Bristol. Our psychiatric collection is extensive, from Victorian straitjackets and a padded room right through to key a patient made which unlocked all the hospital doors. Our museum features numerous artefacts from Bristol's purpose built psychiatric hospital, Bristol Lunatic Asylum (later known as Glenside Hospital) which also had a brief spell as Beaufort War Hospital during the First World War. We also have a smaller collection relating to Dower House, incorporating Stoke Park Colony of learning disability hospitals.
