CCS - Occupational Therapy
Helping Children to be Ready to Learn' is a training package for all mainstream schools in Cambridgeshire.
There are two options to access this training;
Option 1:
Schools can book via Eventbrite, a 'face to face' training session on site (schools may also ‘partner’ up if it suits). The workshops will primarily focus on sensory differences and regulation strategies for a whole school / whole class approach.
For maximum effectiveness, each workshop will be limited to a maximum of 25 attendees and is open to all teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs and support staff at the school.
The workshop is 90 minutes long and is interactive throughout.
Option 2:
Schools can watch the live recording of a Workshop and book onto a Question and Answer (Q&A) session with an Occupational Therapist via TEAMS.
The Q&A session will be one hour long. For maximum effectiveness, each Q&A will be limited to a maximum of 10 attendees and is open to all teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs and support staff. Please only give the school office email address.
All participants will receive a workbook which is sent to the school office and will receive a certificate of attendance post event. We will also send some pre-learning links prior to the workshop which will be useful for attendees to go through.
The Learning Aims of the Workshop are:
· Having a whole school/whole classroom approach to reduce time needed out of the classroom
· Less disruption in the classroom and playground
· Children settling quicker and ready to learn
· Children having greater focus
· How to support a child to maintain regulation
· How to have the optimum learning environment
· Understanding why you may be making these changes
