Organizing an event

Create and manage multiple date or recurring events

If you have an event with multiple dates and times, be sure to choose the setup that best fits your event. There are two ways to set up an event with multiple dates and times. Check out the setups below to decide which one is best for your event. If you have an event that takes place in multiple locations, you'll need to set up a separate event listing for each location.

A single event with multiple dates or times

This setup is best for events that happen over multiple dates, but have different details or offerings for each date. Use this setup if your event: 

  • Has a different cost for each date and time

  • Has different offerings for each date and time

  • Is offering single date AND multi-date tickets

  • Has multiple dates and times, but there is only one price to attend all dates and times.

If this seems like the setup you need:

  1. Log in to your Eventbrite account and select Create Event.

  2. When it’s time to add your event date and time, set your start date as the first date/time of your event, and your end date as the last date/time of your event. 

  3. Create ticket types to represent each instance.

Identical events with recurring instances

This setup is best for events that are identical, but happen across multiple dates, times, or sessions. Use this setup if your event:

  • Occurs multiple times over a given period, like every Monday and Wednesday for five weeks.

  • Is offered once weekly for a given period, like every Saturday for two months.

  • Has multiple dates or times where each instance has identical pricing.

If this seems like the setup you need:

  1. Log in to your Eventbrite account and select Create event.

  2. Select Recurring event when it’s time to enter your event dates and times. 

  3. Add each instance by selecting Add dates (dates can be consecutive or nonconsecutive). 

  4. Create your tickets.

Any ticket types you create will automatically be available for each instance of your event. There isn’t a way to change how many tickets are available for a single instance, as this setup is intended for event instances that are truly identical.

EXAMPLE: You have an event that takes place on Monday and Friday, and you set up a "General Admission" ticket with a quantity of 20 available. That means 20 General Admission tickets will be available for Monday and another 20 will be available for Friday. 

For recurring events, you shouldn’t create a separate ticket type for each instance. Creating separate ticket types when using this setup can lead to overselling, which may require you to process refunds to resolve.

NOTE: An Eventbrite Pro subscription is required to publish recurring events with more than 25 tickets per instance.

Edit or delete a single instance in a recurring schedule

You can reschedule or delete a single event instance without affecting other instances:

  1. Log in and go to Events.

  2. Select your event to go to the event dashboard.

  3. Select Schedule and choose the instance you want to change.

  4. If the event is live, select “On sale” and change the event status to “Postponed” to reschedule, or “Cancelled” to delete.

  5. Save and continue.

  6. Email any attendees impacted by the event change.

You can’t edit the summary, location, or other details for a single event instance.
