How to prevent auto-attendee registrations to your event

Unrelated third-party registration systems may allow attendees to sign up to complete registrations to free events on their behalf. While these are valid registrations, this can sometimes increase the level of oversight needed to manage events. If you're managing a high profile event (or an event with limited capacity and high demand,) consider setting up your tickets specifically to reduce the likelihood of auto-attendee registrations completing for your event.

Sell only "Paid" tickets to your event.

Auto-attendee registrations are only able to complete registrations on the attendee's behalf when tickets are "Free". This means that if you're charging for registration, attempted auto-attendee registrations won't complete.

Use access codes to password-protect hidden ticket types.

If you do offer "free" tickets to your event, try hiding your tickets and creating an access code to reveal the them when entered. Then, add the access code for use and some instructions on how to register to the Event Description section of your event's Edit page. This will appear in the Event Details section of your event listing, and only those who enter the code will be able to see your tickets as well as complete registration.

TIP: If you're offering both "Free" and "Paid" ticket types for your event, you'll only need to hide those that are free to register.
