Join our Sustainable Fashion Show for an evening to remember! The Sustainable Fashion Week 2021 will end with a completely free of charge, professionally produced show about the sustainable fashion industry. Listen to an inspirational talk about slow fashion, engage in exciting discussions about the industry and watch our student models showcase garments of our corporate partners.
The show is open for all students and any person interested in topics of sustainability and/or fashion. It is organized by students of the Student Association at the Stockholm School of Economics (SASSE).
What are the issues of fast fashion and what makes it unsustainable? How can slow fashion and circular economy solve these issues? What are the challenges of the sustainable fashion industry?
These questions - and others - will be the answered during the Sustainable Fashion Week 2021 organized by SASSE Sustainability Group. The fashion week peaks in a show, which serves to point out two central aspects:
- To raise awareness about sustainable and slow fashion.
- To show that sustainable fashion is cool and trendy.
Therefore, we will bring together experts from both theory and practice to enable a holistic understanding of the sustainable fashion industry. To ensure an exiciting event, the show is is organized in collaboration with a professional TV studio and combines elements of a classic fashion show with those of a TV talk show. The event will be broadcasted live and will contain three main elements: key note speech, panel discussion and fashion show.
For the key note speech and panel discussion we organized following inspirational participants:
- Mariel Jumpa, Founder and CEO of Slow Fashion World, a global platform connecting an international community of conscious change-makers championing the sustainable development goals (SDGs), working with ethics and enabling innovation and inclusion through their creative work and projects. - Svenja Tegtmeier, Co-Founder of Saenguin Suits, a Germany-based producer of high quality office wear for women. Besides ensuring consciously-produced garments, Saenguin aims for reduced (gender) inequality and thus covers multiple sustainable development goals. [saenguin.com]
- Sandhya Randberg, Founder of Oria, a brand selling organic t-shirts and cloth bags made of Fairtrade cotton. Furthermore, Sandhya holds inspirational speeches about sustainable business, climate justice and human rights. [oria.se]
