Overview
Together with the rock group Egba, Wasa Express SAS one of the most well known Swedish bands in the genre in the late 70s.
Wasa Express is a Swedish jazz rock band that was formed in early 1976. The members were Bo Hallgren (keyboards), Bo Häggström (bass), Cary Sharaf el Din (guitar) and Åke "Doktor Åke" Eriksson (drums). The band recorded four albums between 1976 and 1979, when the group split up. After reuniting briefly in 1986, they reunited for the second time in 2003.
Wasa Express was, together with Egba, the leading jazz-rock band in Sweden in the 1970s. With their playful and advanced musical style, they broke new musical ground and toured the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe innumerable times.
