So what exactly is Innovation Boot Camp?

In short, it's an annual two-day event where participants develop, refine, and compete with their own business ideas. It's about identifying a problem or an opportunity, brainstorming solutions, and finding your own way to make a positive impact. The event is filled with tools, tips and inspiration. Also plenty of networking opportunities and top-notch coaching from seasoned business professionals.

Strength in numbers

Innovation Boot Camp is based on teamwork. Therefore, you can either register a complete team or sign up solo and be matched with other registrants at the beginning of the weekend!

The competition will feature three unique prize categories:

• Most Innovative Idea – Rewards the idea with the most groundbreaking or creative solution.
• Best Market Potential – Recognizes the idea with the highest potential for market success and scalability.
• Sustaianability – Highlights the idea that contributes the most to solving a social or environmental issue. For all ideas, regardless of category, feasibility is an important aspect.

Prizes

There will be three winners in total, one for each prize category. Each winning team will receive the following prizes:

🏆 A 4000 SEK cash prize

🏆 A one-year membership to the co-working space A Working Lab Universum, in Umeå. Providing you with the ideal environment to continue developing your idea.

Good to know:

💠Participation conditions: To participate, someone in the team must have a connection to Umeå University or SLU.

💠Team: A team can include one or more participants, with a maximum of five.

💠Language: English

💠Registration Deadline: Tuesday, September 30, 17:00.

💠Place: A Working Lab in Universum, at Umeå university.

💠Cancellation Policy: If, for some reason, you can't attend after signing up, please notify us promptly. Early notice is crucial due to allocated resources.

💠What to bring: A Computer and a charger.

Program for the weekend:

Saturday 4/10 08:30-22:00 - Let the Boot Camp begin!

Innovation Boot Camp begins with an idea generation. You and your team will get plenty of time to decide on what idea you would like to focus on through out the event. Additionally, teams with already existing ideas can use the time to futher develop their concept.

After, the real challenge begins! The teams will dive into their ideas and focus on different aspects of bussines development. Meanwhile beeing supported by experienced business coaches. The final part of the event concludes with an pitch training session, and lastly all teams submit their ideas.

Idea submission deadline: 22:00

We've got lunch and dinner covered, along with a variety of snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Sunday 5/10, 12:00-16:00 - The thrilling grand finale!

As the boot camp approaches its grand finale, get ready to pitch you ideas for a jury and to listen in on other participants exiting ideas! Afterwards the judges will take some time to decide the winners. Meanwhile teams will mingle, enjoy snacks, and savor refreshing alcohol-free drinks. The excitement builds as we await the thrilling conclusion, where the jury will reveal the well-deserved winners of Innovation Boot Camp 2025!
