Join the conversation with:
Nicolas Pillon, Associate Professor, Team Leader at Karolinska Institutet
Hosted by: Marta Kaprale, Stardust Impact NGO, Founder
We invite you to the first gathering of the initiative "Stardust Stories," where we meet researchers dedicated to advancing human health and bringing societal change that affects the lives of so many people.
What is at the heart of Nicolas's work?
He is dedicating his life's work to understanding the unique interaction between skeletal muscle and the immune system, which holds answers to how our bodies regulate energy balance—a process central to preventing metabolic diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes. He will guide us through these connections, highlighting what has been discovered, what is fascinating about these connections, and what still remains to be understood.
But this is not only about the discoveries. This is also a story of true dedication.
Nicolas will share his personal story and perspectives—the challenges he navigates in the pursuit of answers, why this work matters to him, and the moments that make it all worthwhile, no matter how challenging it gets.
This is a rare opportunity to see how scientific work unfolds and to reflect on how this knowledge can resonate in society, what we can learn for ourselves, and what we can do to support it.
Conversations are door openers to connection, to learning, to change.
Let’s have more of them.
Welcome!
