Civil Rights Defenders is organising the 3rd Regional Journalists' Days in order to empower journalists to handle new challenges in work

Civil Rights Defenders has devoted this year's 3rd Journalists' Days to raise awareness on how the outbreak of COVID-19 changed journalism and media landscape in the region and wider. It will also look at the interlink of the COVID-19 pandemic and rise of authoritarian tendencies and its effects on investigative journalism. Lastly, it will tackle upon the significance of artificial intelligence in journalism and how it can be used in the benefit of reliable, objective journalism. The event will bring together renowned journalists, media experts and policymakers in a discussion on the challenges to media freedoms and the freedom of expression in the Western Balkans and Turkey. The event comprises of three panel discussions:<ul><li>How COVID-19 changed journalism in the region </li><li>Breaking investigative stories through authoritarian lines </li><li>Artificial intelligence- key to manipulation or solution of media capture </li></ul>Working language is English. Translation to Albanian, BCMS, North Macedonian, and Turkish will be provided.
