OGA - Association for Gaff Rig Sailing

We were set up in 1963 to preserve our distinctive traditional rig, and in the early days this entailed rescuing or preserving lovely old gaffers. Now gaff rigged boats are being built again; some using traditional methods and others using modern materials - and with the current love of all things “retro” gaffers are more popular than ever. We work to encourage interest in gaff, lug and spritsail rig but we welcome all types of boats and their owners as long as they share our enthusiasm for those traditional rigs.
