Jules Bradbury

Artist Jules Bradbury runs creative workshops for all, throughout southern Scotland.

Jules is an experienced artist with a rich and extensive background working across art & design. Renowned for her warmth & patience, her style of teaching is informal but highly effective and encouraging. She actively advocates for the power of creativity as a way for anyone to find new ways of thinking, forming connection and meaning. She runs many drawing and printmaking workshops, providing others with the inspiration and tools to explore their creative potential. .

With a lifelong association with plants and the natural environment, this is the foundation of much of her work. Her earlier working life began in independent filmmaking, creating film sets: from a pine forest in Pinewood Studios for Kate Bush to a vegetable garden from scratch on location in the Black Hills of Wales with the British Film Institute. Over many years, alongside her artistic practice, she has created intimate gardens in the UK and Europe. Eventually, after returning to Scotland from 8 years living in Berlin, she became gardener to writer Maggie O'Farrell, publicly acknowledged for the botanical knowledge underpinning O'Farrell's novel 'Hamnett'.

Encouraging you to look closer & take time to notice things along the way is focal to her work; using your senses to register the change of season & look at where you are with fresh eyes. She now lives and works in a wild place in the hills, deep in the Scottish Borders.
