Hong Kong Denim Festival

The Hong Kong Denim Festival (HKDF) is proposed to be one of the key projects under the upcoming Hong Kong Fashion Fest, which supports the goals that launching fashion design activities at cultural landmarks and iconic fashion spots across Hong Kong.

Over the years, The Hong Kong Denim Festival (HKDF) serves as a dynamic platform to offer diverse perspectives, networks and experiences on denim. It aims to nurture creative talents, facilitate art, cultural, creativity and academic exchanges. Its activities have been highly complimented by the denim industry and the denim design community. With the theme “Denim Artistry”, the 4th HKDF comprises different innovative activities: the HKDF Opening Ceremony cum Denim Fashion Show, Denim Art Showcase, “The Denim Edit” In-mall and In-Store campaign, Capsule Collection produced by the 2nd GDTP and an B2B activity in Paris fashion week.  

Organised by the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), the 4th HKDF will be held in major fashion locations and shopping mall in Hong Kong. It will offer a diverse range of B2C and B2B activities to immerse attendees in the culture and experience of denim. The event aims to engage both local and international visitors such as designers, buyers, entrepreneurs, students, and the public.  In collaboration with world-renowned denim brands, denim mills and trade fairs, it aims to nurture creative talents for the denim industry. The HKDF events provide young designers and startup brands with valuable opportunities, including local retail exposure, overseas field trip experiences, along with networking and business development support.  

By fostering industry-designer collaborations, HKDF strives to cultivate a broader understanding of denim and its cultural significance, encouraging designers to draw inspiration from various sources, contributing to a more diverse and vibrant creative landscape.
