Felsted Fleece
Brick House Farm is situated in the rural Essex countryside, close to both Braintree, Chelmsford and the village of Felsted, with good public transport links and easy on-site parking.
Cara and Neil Bookless established Felsted Fleece in 2018 to both process and sell the high quality wool fibres grown by their own flock of Gotland sheep. Cara has been a keen and frequent Hand Spinner, Knitter, Crocheter, Dyer, Needle and Wet felter since before then...
As a fully qualified teacher and Lecturer with more than 30-years experience of teaching from Reception age up to Adult Student Teachers, Cara is well placed to offer informative and fun-packed courses in a wide range of skills and subjects.
Cara is a Member of the West Essex Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers and is a regular and popular Public Speaker on all subjects "Wool".
While development of the first Woollen Spinning Mill in Essex in 300-years, intended to process up to 18-tonnes of locally grown wool, is taking up a large part of her time, she is also developing Brick House Farm as a Craft Centre where individuals can come to learn new skills, or practice existing ones, within a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Felsted Fleece is pleased to offer a range of courses, lead by experienced Crafters, who are keen to pass on their skills.
