Introduction of Zen and Tea as a self cultivating practice in the modern life.

Anya and Yuliya are students of Zen and Cha Dao.

We are sharing our experience and insights into two very close areas. By creating a chance to participate in meditations and hear about some reasons why and how those activities are so important.

We both are following tradition of our lineages and dedicating lives to the service to the community.

We spending time with teachers and masters in Japan and China and participating in other events around Europe meeting with other practitioners.

Our offer for this evening is to try out and find guidance during your first steps on the path of liberation or at least find relaxation, recuperation and focus.

Our Zen and Tea workshop will consist of two parts - Tea meditation and a zazen workshop.

First part, Tea meditation, will be led by Yulliya Maslyn. Yuliya is a student of Leaf, and for the last 5 years she has cultivated herself in Cha Dao (the Way of Tea) in Tea Hut Tradition, a tea school established by WuDe and based in Taiwan but reaching back to China with its roots.

The Tea Plant goes hand in hand with Zen practice and takes a special place in self cultivation. Buddhist monks where the first humans who started cultivation of tea and as Buddhism spread throughout Chinese society during the Tang dynasty (609-907) tea became interwoven with the whole social structure. Being the second most consumed substance in the world after water it can offer physical and emotional comfort to us. We invite you for tea meditation as an introduction and the first step on the path of Zen discovery.

The Zazen workshop will be led by Anna Seishin Platunova, a student of Japanese Zen Master Shodo Harada Roshi since 2007. Anna spends 2-3 months a year in the Japanese Zen monastery Sogenji located in Okayama, Japan. She has participated in dozens of Zen retreats at the monastery, including solo retreats.

Our zazen workshop is an introduction to Zen practice, it will consist of two parts. First, we will give general information about Zen - some historical details and principles that lay at the heart of Zen practice and we will discuss how we can live our lives in a more harmonious, compassionate and mindful way by using methods of Zen practice. During the second part, we will have guided zazen meditation.

This evening is for all who are interested in learning (listening) about Zen as well as for those who are interested in participating in our one-day retreats.

Price 300 kr (could be used as 100 kr downpayment for the upcoming Zen and Tea retreats).

Teenagers are welcome, please talk to us beforehand if you are planning to come with one.
