Welcome and introduction

Insights and experiences to address risks for migrant workers in global supply chains:

Owain Johnstone, Modern Slavery Advisor, ETI UK

The presentation will focus on insights and experiences from ETI UKs years long work to address modern slavery risks in supply chains. This will include tools to access modern slavery risks as well as a presentation on ETI UKs ongoing project in the rubber-gloves industry in Malaysia, which focuses on access to remedy for vulnerable migrant workers in Malaysia.Owain will also share up to date information on Covid-19 is affecting migrant workers and give some conclusions from ETI UK on this subject.

Empowering migrant workers through training, shared knowledge and constructive dialogue:

Katrine Karlsen, Sustainability Manager UNIL, Norwegian Food retailer & member of IEH (ETI Norway)

An introduction to the initiative MOVE where Nordic companies and QuizRR together initiated digital trainings on ethical recruitment in Thailand. Now is time for the next step and MOVE wants to find new collaborators for reaching the full supply chains and possible other markets. Katrine will also share reflections on how migrant workers are affected by Covid-19 in the Thai food sector and how ETI Norway recommend retailers to handle the situation in a responsible way.
